The Erasmus process that I spent in ESDIR for a semester was a complete adventure for me. When I applied to Erasmus, I had made many plans and dreamed a lot. I came to Logrono with the motivation to know the world and people outside my country and to learn many things. I will never forget ESDIR’s small but magnificent building, workshops and teachers. I remember that I took thousands of steps on the first day I came to Logrono. The next days were no different, I was learning something new every day. I loved my school, being in Spain, traveling, and I had great friendships with new people I met. And then, as 2020 spring semester students, we came across Covid-19. Some of my friends returned to their homes, chaos started all over the world. ESDIR, like the rest of the world, continued its online education. Living this process far away from home was a completely different experience. Although this sad and big event has affected all over the world, I am very glad for all I lived here. I know that the bond I have established here does not over here. I am very grateful for the time I spent in Spain and all this love. I’ll miss every part of it. I would like to thank the Erasmus Coordinator, who has always been open for any help since the first day. I recommend everyone to benefit from Erasmus. You will have unforgettable memories.

Even though my experience got cut short due to the pandemic, it was still fun, exciting and eye opening. It helped me develop new skills and perspectives in the field of design with the help and suggestions of my professors. I would absolutely do it again, and urge anyone who is considering, to give it a shot!

A pesar de los acontecimientos nos pareció una experiencia única, fuimos muy bien recibidas y sentimos la compañía y el apoyo de la escuela en todo momento, estamos sumamente agradecidas y felices por esta experiencia extraordinaria. Sin dudas estudiar fuera de casa nos abre muchas puertas y nos permite conocer nuevas formas de vivir y personas fantásticas.

Hello, my name is Pierre, I came from Belgium to study graphic design during one semester in Esdir. I would really recommend the school to anyone who is thinking about going for an Erasmus period there, the classes were interesting and the teachers were friendly and helpful when I needed help. This time made me discover a different face of graphic design and it was very beneficial to help me improve my skills. Logrono is a beautiful city, it’s not so big but that means you can easily have a walk in nature if you are tired of the city. I loved Spanish culture too. The school also provided us Spanish language course which really helped so much to learn Spanish while we were there.

Somos tres amigas francesas de la escuela L’ESAAT (Francia, Roubaix), que tuvimos la oportunidad de pasar un semestre en ESDIR.
Una experiencia que nos permitió descubrir el diseño a través de otra cultura y otra lengua.
Fue un reto lingüístico para nosotros, que no habíamos estudiado español en cinco años, pero a fuerza de concentración, curiosidad y paciencia hemos progresado mucho gracias a los cursos de español a los que la escuela nos da acceso.
En el patio de diseño hemos podido abrir nuestra mirada gracias a diferentes metodologías.
Los eventos organizados en la escuela la convierten en un establecimiento dinámico, como las semanas de trabajo o las diferentes conferencias de diseñador de renombre… que ofrece la posibilidad de intercambio entre las secciones
Logroño es una ciudad acogedora, dinámica y tradicional donde podrás descubrir la cultura española!
En el corazón de la Rioja ofrece la posibilidad de visitar numerosas ciudades en sus alrededores y paisajes más sorprendentes de unos que otros, entre montañas, cañones, cascadas y reservas naturales. Vinimos en coche y nos aventuramos a sus descubrimientos.
Fue una experiencia rica en aprendizaje sobre nosotras mismas, una oportunidad para descubrir el diseño y su práctica desde otra perspectiva.

En los últimos meses no sólo he aprendido a manejar nuevas situaciones, sino que también he obtenido valiosos conocimientos sobre el inspirador contenido de la enseñanza de Esdir. Me llevaré muchas ideas a casa y las incorporaré a mis proyectos. Disfruté especialmente de la semana internacional de talleres con Aline Gheysens, durante la cual pude intercambiar ideas sobre el tema del consumo con estudiantes de otros campos del diseño. Afortunadamente ya sabía un poco de español. Eso hizo todo un poco más fácil. Y si no funcionaba en español de vez en cuando, mis compañeros y profesores hicieron el esfuerzo de explicarme detalladamente los temas y las situaciones individuales. ¡Muchas gracias por eso! Recomiendo a todos que participen en un intercambio de Erasmus. Se están desarrollando amistades y relaciones internacionales, que esperamos continúen!
